This cosmetic dental procedure offers a fast way to really improve your smile!
Most of us would probably like to improve the appearance of our teeth, in one way or another.
Sometimes this can be done quite simply by using a teeth whitening procedure, for example, but equally, more complex dental treatment might be needed such as the use of dental implants to replace any teeth that are missing.
One flexible treatment which can correct a number of problems are dental veneers and these offer a fantastic way to address some of the issues which can detract from a patient’s smile.
The most obvious use for dental veneers is to provide a patient with a whiter nicer looking smile. Whilst a teeth whitening procedure can also do this, it may not be entirely successful if the patient’s teeth are very badly stained, such as might be the case with a heavy smoker. With dental veneers, even a lifetime of heavy smoking can be overcome aesthetically by attaching dental veneers to the front surface of a previously prepared tooth.
Whilst the dental veneer procedure is a little more invasive than a teeth whitening procedure, it is also more permanent. A teeth whitening procedure will improve the whiteness of a patient’s teeth for several months but then will need re-whitening if you wish to maintain the colour. Dental veneers, on the other hand, should last for approximately ten years and are highly resistant to staining, so maintaining the whiteness for a relatively long time.
Cracked and worn teeth
A common problem that we see with older patients who come to the Confidental Clinic in Purley, is that of general wear and tear. Minor chips and cracks that appear over time often need no treatment to keep the teeth healthy, but they can significantly detract from a patient’s appearance.
Dental veneers offer an excellent way to overcome this problem and can provide a patient with a much nicer smile and with a relatively straightforward procedure.
Whilst badly crooked teeth will need one of the range of adult orthodontics that we offer at our Purley clinic, dental veneers can actually be used for minor orthodontic corrections. One example of this is where the patient has a gap between the front teeth, called a diastema. Veneers can sometimes be used to close this gap and other minor corrections may also be possible. We will discuss these with you during your consultation.
If you are dissatisfied with the way that your teeth look and would like to discuss how we can help you to improve your smile, why not call the Confidental Clinic in Purley on 020 8660 8923 to arrange a free non clinical consultation with one of our friendly cosmetic dental team?
